OneSearch Changes and Updating Library Links

On May 6, the library will unveil OneSearch with a new interface. The current version of OneSearch, hosted on EBSCO, will continue to be accessible until June 30.

After June 30, links to content on the existing, or "old," OneSearch will become inactive.

To assist you in identifying and updating these links to the new OneSearch, we've provided instructions below.

If you prefer for us to handle the link updates for you or if you have any other questions, please complete this help request form!

Step 1: Identify "Old" OneSearch Links

To identify whether your links are OneSearch links that need updating, follow these steps:

1. Check the URL: Does it contain "ebsco" or "ebscohost" at any point in the link?

  • If yes, proceed to step #2.
  • If no, it's not an old OneSearch link and does not require updating.

2. Examine the link closely for unique codes indicating OneSearch links: Look for the codes "356ple" or "site=eds-live" within the URL. If you find these codes, proceed to step #3.

3. Check for additional indicators:

  • Links containing "linkprocessor", such as "https://research.ebsco.com/linkprocessor/," may or may not be OneSearch links.
  • To confirm, follow the link and check for codes "356ple" or "site=eds" in the URL of the page it leads to (as in step 2 above).
  • If the page URL contains these codes, it's an old OneSearch link that requires updating

Step 2: Update "Old" OneSearch links

To ensure your links work seamlessly after the existing OneSearch platform is discontinued, follow these steps:

1. Locate the Item(s) on the New OneSearch.

  • Use the search box to search for the title of the item you want to locate.
  • If the title alone isn't specific enough, consider adding the author's name to refine your search.

2. Access Full Text Links:

  • Once you've found the item in the search results, click on its title to access the record for the item.

3. Click PERMALINK to link back to this page on the new OneSearch.

  • Students will need to click a link under full text availability to access the full text.
  • Alternatively, follow a link under “Full text availability” to create a more direct link to the full text (especially if its in an EBSCOhost database).
