What is ArchivesSpace?

ArchivesSpace is an online catalog of the PennWest Clarion and Clarion University archival collections, allowing you to discover available research materials. 

How Do I Search ArchivesSpace?

ArchivesSpace allows you to browse for materials in a variety of ways, including by subject, by name, or by classification.  For the most comprehensive search, use the search box on the ArchivesSpace screen to do a general keyword search.  You will be pointed to all of the records in the database containing your keyword(s).  Use the ArchivesSpace access link below to access the database.

How Can I View the Materials I Find in ArchivesSpace?

When you find archival materials of interest described in ArchivesSpace, make note of the collection or item Identifier number, as well as any relevant series titles or folder titles affiliated with the information you need. Then, contact the PennWest Clarion archivist, Corene Glotfelty, at 814-393-1805 or cglotfelty@pennwest.edu to make an appointment to visit the Archives to view the materials, or to ask for information concerning the collection or item you identified. Appointments are not available during university break periods and over the summer. Business hours available for appointments vary by semester. Please contact the archivist to make access arrangements prior to your visit. Note: Many of the most-often requested materials from the Archives have been digitized and are available online! To access these materials, click on the "Digitized Archival Materials" tab.
