Global Online Students

Discover the resources and services from the University Libraries that will be most useful to Global Online students.

Interlibrary Loan (ILLiad)

As an online or distance student, you can use Interlibrary Loan (ILL) to have requested materials sent directly to you, no matter your location. Interlibrary Loan is a free service that allows you to borrow materials, including books and articles, from other libraries or from the PennWest Libraries' physical collections.

Global Online students should use our ILLiad interlibrary loan service to request items from the PennWest Libraries as well as other libraries. You can find more information about ILLiad, including helpful search tips and tutorials, on the Interlibrary Loan webpage.

ILLiad

ILLiad is used to borrow articles, book chapters, books, and other items from other libraries. You can also use ILLiad to request items from the PennWest Libraries' physical collections to be mailed to you. Any physical items requested will be mailed directly to you via UPS. Requested articles will be delivered to your ILLiad account within 24-48 hours and will remain available as a PDF in your account for 90 days.

Returning Items

Global Online students should return any physical material(s) (i.e., books) prior to their due date using the prepaid UPS return label the Interlibrary Loan department sent with your material(s). If you do not have the printed label, please contact your Campus ILL Department and a label can be emailed to you. There is no extra cost for using the UPS label, but you are responsible for finding a UPS drop-off location.

Items can also be returned using the U.S. Postal Service. However, you must cover the cost of returning the item(s).

If you need help using our Interlibrary Loan services, please contact our Interlibrary Loan department.
